Jon Niese continued to pitch like a beast with a complete game 7inning shutout. I am hoping to watch the video for this game maybe tomorrow to get a look on how Niese is looking to go along with the amazing stats he has been posting.

Jon Niese was absolutely masterful. 126pitches, 10 strikeouts, 10 groundball outs, nothing else you could ask for from the young Niese.

Thanks to the worst offense in AAA Jon Niese took the ND on a game he should have easily won. The only other team who could do this bad offensively for a pitcher is non other than the New York Mets. Niese was masterful throwing just 102 pitches over 8 innings. Niese recorded an outstanding 14 groundball outs to just 6 flyball outs and was consistently in the zone throwing 69% strikes. Jon Niese was absolutely dealing tonight and continuing his recent success. Over his last three starts he is 2-1 with a 0.89 ERA. He also has great peripherals over that time with 5 walks and 19 strikeouts in 20.1 innings. Tonight was just a masterful start throwing only 94 pitches (64 strikes) over 7 innings striking out 8, walking just 1, ad giving up just 6 hits.
