I like Ike! This man has just been on fire for about oh the last 10 months. I am checking off the days until he is in a Met uniform for good. In two games he has 3 extra base hits more than all Mets first baseman combines. The other first base option, Chris Carter, also had a solid game. And for the NY Mets tonight? Mike Jacobs 0-2. Good call Jerry. Kiko Calero had a solid outing and hopefully he can work his way back into shape pretty quickly so that we don’t have to see Sean Green anymore.

Thanks to the worst offense in AAA Jon Niese took the ND on a game he should have easily won. The only other team who could do this bad offensively for a pitcher is non other than the New York Mets. Niese was masterful throwing just 102 pitches over 8 innings. Niese recorded an outstanding 14 groundball outs to just 6 flyball outs and was consistently in the zone throwing 69% strikes. Superb month of June for Niese. [...]
