Jon Niese continued to pitch like a beast with a complete game 7inning shutout. I am hoping to watch the video for this game maybe tomorrow to get a look on how Niese is looking to go along with the amazing stats he has been posting.

Just an awful night for the B-Mets pitching staff just had a simply awful night. It started out with Brad Holt who gave up 4 runs in 3.1 innings (did strike out 6 though) and gave up 1 homerun on a fastball and got even worse when the bullpen gave up 8 runs in 5.2 innings with Stephen Clyne having the worst performance.

Shawn Bowman had a great game after slumping for a while going 4-4 with a double. Caleb Stewart drove in the only run with his 2nd homerun of the season. Ike Davis’s average dropped to .257 after going 1-2 in his last 3 games (5k’s, 0 walks). Jose Coronado had a multi hit game going 2-5 with a double.

Brad Holt was absolutely LIT up. This might wind up being the worst outing in his life. The only batter Holt retired was the 3rd batter of the game Nick Weglarz. He let the first two batters on then walked the bases loaded before giving up a 2-run single and 3-run bomb. He was then pulled from the game for Stephen Clyne who got out of the inning. The only effective B-Met pitcher was Roy Merritt who pitched 2 scoreless innings striking out 2 batters.
