Dillon Gee was terrific in his return to action from his right shoulder injury.  He pitched shutout ball and acted as if he missed no time demonstrating the impeccable command that put him on the prospect radar.  Bobby Parnell picked up his first career save while striking out two batters in 1.1 innings.  Josh Thole picked up his first hit of the season and Ike Davis got on base two more times including his 4th extra base hit in 3 games.  Mike Hessman provided most of the offense with his 3-run moon shot in the 1st.

Another poor pitching effort and slugfest for the BMets.  Michael Antonini was torched and Josh Stinson who came in to relieve him didn’t do much better.  No positives on the pitching front tonight.  Lucas Duda continued on his torrid pace.  He had another homerun and got his 7th RBI of the season.  All this hype surrounding Ike Davis must have gotten him going and forcing him to make a statement to tell everyone saying not to forget about him.

Kyle Allen had the first decent outing from the big four of the starting rotation for St. Lucie.  His command was a little weak in this game, but that is most likely just being of the season rust.  Still don’t know why Rhiner Cruz isn’t being used as the closer.  When your offense goes 1-11 with RISP you aren’t very likely to win as was the case with the Mets tonight.

Collin McHugh gave up an early homerun and then hit the showers early as a result.   The bullpen pitched a great six innings of relief, but it still wasn’t enough as the offense was shutdown by Quinton MillerWilmer Flores and Juan Lagares have hit safely in every game to continue their tremendous hot streaks of the season.
