What a great game by Tim Stronach. Despite only striking out one he was still able to throw a no-hitter through 8.1 innings before finally giving up a hit to Oliver Marmol, who ironically is only batting .226 on the year. Sp after getting a no-hitter from our GCL pitchers who now get a near no-hitter from HiA.
Francisco Pena has been Albert Pujols like in his last 3 games going a combined with 3 homeruns. Yes the catcher has doubled his HR total for the year in 3 games by homering in each of the games. Stefan Welch has continued to rake since his promotion to St. Lucie. Can this be a result of consistent playing time? Continue reading →

..This is a much much more interesting lineup than Brooklyn. It is headlined by Cesar Puello who probably wo
uld have been in Savannah with the other two teen sensations had he not been hurt and staying in extended spring training. We also have the Harris brothers Alonzo and Ronald Harris (not actually brothers) who should also be pretty interesting. Bunch of interesting arms including Armando Rdoriguez who had a ridiculous 22:81 BB:K in 72 innings in the DSL in 2008. Canadian Guillaume Leduc is always interesting to keep an eye on and there are 2009 draft picks Zach Von Tersch, Thomas Chism, lanky Brian Needham, and I believe they will be joined by Darin Gorski who is not listed above… Continue reading →
