Putz will need to go on the DL because he needs surgery on his pitching elbow.  If everything goes correctly and he hells PERFECTLY he can possibly return in 6-8 weeks.  The odds are he will likely be out longer and the odds are when he returns he will not be as effective as he was in the past.  It’s your time to step up Bobby Parnell.

The Savannah Sand Gnats are also being flooded with injuries as prospect Juan Lagares who was having a pretty solid season (.290/.324/.355) is out for the season with an injury to his right wrist.  Starting German catcher Kai Gronauer has also been placed on the DL as has 1st baseman Eric Campbell.  To fill the roster spots catcher Ralph Henriquez and third baseman Stefan Welch have been called up from extended spring training.
