Dillon Gee was just masterful today and if it was a shutout probably would have been pitching the 9th for the shutout as he was so efficient with his pitches. Consistency is the thing that separates major leaguers from minor leaguers and Gee has the potential to put up wonderful performances like this, but then will go out his next time and throw up a stinker. If he can ever find the middle ground he can become an extremely solid 4/5 starter.

Mark Cohoon‘s game went as strangely as his whole season in Bingy has been. His peripherals continue to be fantastic, but his results continue to look bad. His game didn’t start of well giving up a home run to slugger Travis Snider, completely understandable, and then it looked like he was settling in. Then in the third inning he got a quick out before walking the number nine hitter on four straight pitches something you never want to do. Then the trouble came when the next three batters reached on singles, but the thing is two of the hits were because of poor defense and the other one was a weakly hit bloop. Not much of Cohoon’s fault. Right after making Shawn Bowman look silly at the plate he gave up a grand slam to put the game away. Had their been a better defense behind him and those plays made who knows what happens. I am not buying into Cohoon’s poor performance in Bingy so far because he is pitching to an inflated BABIP, walking no one, striking out enough, and getting a nice amount of ground balls. He is having trouble controlling his curve ball, but things should turn around soon for Cohoon. Captain Kirk and Sean Ratliff continue to mash.

Another not great start from James Fuller and his stock is really falling now. He was considered the best or second best prospect in the St. Lucie rotation when the season began, but has been passed up by the likes of Cohoon and Brandon Moore. Next season I would move him Binghamton and try him out as a LOOGY to make a quick move to the majors. Cesar Puello and Jefry Marte continue to be two of the only baters to do anything lately.

Ryan Fraser is just an absolute beast. It is not very often you get exited about a relief prospect, but still he has been amazing. Just an all around solid performance from the offense. They did a good job hitting with runners in scoring position and stealing bases especially by the real prospects on the team; Cory Vaughn, Darrell Ceciliani, and Brian Harrison.

Song of the Day: Welcome Home – Coheed and Cambria
You could’ve been all I wanted
But you weren’t honest
Now get in the ground
You choked off the surest of favors
But if you really loved me
You would’ve endured my worldWell if you’re just as I presumed
A whore in sheep’s clothing
Fucking up all I do
And if so here we stop
Then never again
Will you see this in your lifeHang on to the glory at my right hand
Here laid to rest is our love ever longed
With truth on the shores of compassion
You seem to take premise to all of these songsYou stormed off to scar the armada
Like Jesus played martyr,
I’ll drill through your hands
The stone for the curse you have blamed me
With love and devotion, I’ll die as you sleep
But if you could just write me out
To neverless wonder… happy will I become
Be true that this is no option,
So with sin I condemn you
Demon play, demon out!Hang on to the glory at my right hand
Here laid to rest is our love ever longed
With truth on the shores of compassion
You seem to take premise to all of these songsOne last kiss for you
One more wish to you
Please make up your mind girl…
I’d do anything for you
One last kiss for you
One more wish to you
Please make up your mind girl…
Before I hope you die

Shockingly Ollie P had a good game today. He was able to go more than 6 innings, only walked 2 batters, and struck out a batter per inning. He did give up a lot of hits, but the most important thing for Ollie is the walks. If he can ever manage to keep those down he will be more ‘successful’.

I know people don’t like to look at a pitchers wins for his success, but Josh Stinson is now 7-1 and that is very impressive in my book. The ability to win like that and not lose is very impressive in my book. While I would like to the walks come down a little bit I am okay with the strikeouts because of his ability to get ground balls, which has improved since he moved to the rotation. It took 31 games, but Josh Satin finally went deep for Bingy. He has continued to with a high average to go along with a BABIP, but I am not too nervous of his average to drop that much or if at all because he has shown an ability to maintain a high BABIP throughout his career.

Ollie and Brad Holt with good games on the same day? This wasn’t a great game by any means for Holt but it is more in the mold of his starts back when he was dominating. A lot of strikeouts and fly balls while keeping the hits down. Wilmer Flores must not have liked be giving Rafael Fernandez props as he came back today with 3 hits and 4 RBI’s while returning to having the highest batting average on the team.

Cesar Puello hit the magic 30 steals mark today. Now if only he could get on base or hit for some power he would be in good shape. It is shocking how low his SLG% given that he is not that small of a guy and you would expect at least 5 home runs by now

A.J. Pinera was much better in this start than in his first start an earned his first professional victory. The offense was clicking on all cylinders tonight with the Cyclones scoring runs in five consecutive innings. J.B. Brown had a good game with 2 extra base hits (a home run and double) and every starter except Cody Holliday had a hit tonight.

Everyday this offense puts up runs, but 3 errors and a passed ball helped contribute to 5 unearned runs scoring and allowing this game go into extras where the team lost in the 12th. This team can sure hit, but their defense is awful, which is fully expected of kids at this level.
