Mets Sign Fourth Round Pick Vaughn

By

It didn’t take very long, but the Mets have already signed the first member of the 2010 draft class.  San Diego State University outfielder Cory Vaughn has signedwith the New York Mets.

According to the article Vaughn didn’t have a doubt in his mind that he was going to sign no matter who drafted him.  The article goes on to confirm Vaughn will indeed get his first shot at professional baseball in Brooklyn.  This means I will get to watch him and get some video for you guys to see of Vaughn.  My favorite part of the article is this quote,

The one thing he[his father] said was, ‘Now all the hard work begins.’”

His dad definitely knows the type of hard work it takes to not only make it to the big leagues, but to stay their and have a successful career.  If Cory turns out to have even half the career his father had then the Mets surely got a great deal taking him in the fourth round of the draft.
