The Florida Marlins defeated the New York Mets 5 to 4.

Winning Pitcher: Matt Lindstrom (1-0 4.50)

Losing Pitcher: Pedro Feliciano (0-1 13.50)

Reason for Loss: Offense

The offense takes the slack for this lose. 1-10 with RISP. 14 runners left on base? Those stats are just terrible and you’re not gonna win many ball games that way.  The only clutch hit came from Jeremy Reed in the 9th to tie the game.  Darren O’Day is visibly shaken up from the unfortunate Nick Adenhart incident and should sat down for a few games to let him recover.

On a positive note Ryan Church continues to rake (3-4 BB) and Daniel Murphy had a good game at the plate (3-5 2B).  John Maine had a decent first start and something that he can build off of going into his next start, but he has to pitch deeper into the ball game.

I know I gave offense the reason for the lose, but let’s not forget the bullpen gave up 3 runs in in 3.2 innings of work they have to do better than that.

Game MVP:

Jeremy Reed: Came up with the clutch hit to tie the game in the 9th inning.
